Why Mobile Dominates

Why Mobile Dominates Desktops in Online Marketing

16-Aug-2016

Wayne Sharer

For many years now (since about 2009), marketers and online advertisers have been telling you that mobile dominates desktops. For most of those years, these marketers were only saying this to get you to buy their latest mobile software, app, or service.

You could look at your own website stats and see if mobile was the dominant source for web visitors to arrive at your site. In most cases, you would find it wasn’t even close.

Has the turf changed? Does mobile dominate desktops in online marketing?

Well, it may not be so simple as checking your online stats for your website any longer. The reason is, Google and Bing now check for mobile optimization. If your site is not mobile friendly, then it is much less likely to appear in a search result on a mobile device. Thus, the percentage of people finding your site on mobile devices is going to be skewed to a very low number.

Your strategic marketing efforts, and your tactics must include mobile marketing and optimization if you truly want to leverage the full power of the web.

Here’s some insights on why you need to be paying attention to mobile for your online marketing to succeed at its full potential…

The numbers!  The numbers show you need to have a true mobile marketing capability in your business.

Why Most Marketers and Local Business Fail at Mobile Marketing

I visit many… no countless local websites and marketer’s websites.

Most new marketers are killing themselves online for a number of reasons.

  1. They don’t think strategically… they think they can just toss up a website and start making sales. That’s their plan. Does that sound good to you?
  2. Their website just plain sucks. It doesn’t give web consumer what they want, and the new marketer has no clue how to do that.
  3. Their marketing pages really stink on mobile, so they automatically lose out on more than half the market potential
